A horrible way to start the new year:

BART Officer Shoots Hayward Man in the Back

OAKLAND — A BART police officer struggling to handcuff a 22-year-old man, stood up over the facedown Hayward resident and fired a single shot into his back while a handful of officers watched, a new video taken by a train passenger showed Sunday.

The attorney for the family of Oscar Grant III, fatally shot by an unidentified BART police officer early New Year’s Day, said Sunday he plans to file a $25 million lawsuit against the department and asked prosecutors to consider filing murder charges against the officer.

The shooting occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday after five officers responded to the Fruitvale station to reports of a fight on a train, officials said, though they have not confirmed whether Grant was involved in that fight.

Peace and blessing the family and friends of Oscar Grant. In my prayers I asked God to please bring some justice to them and to us all for such a sensless murder.

We are being killed and abused by the very system that was designed to protect us. Therefore, we must protect ourselves and each other from this abuse. We should communicate these actions with each other and the authorities to document their frequency. We will keep our video carmera’s and cell phones at the ready to photograph the abuse. And we must stay in pray becuase God listens and prayer works.

and finally to chief Gee - shame on you, you too stall be judged.

Make sure that you are recording your own crimes as well when the cameras are rolling. Either live by the bible or die by the bible, you cant have it both ways. Make sure you are doing everything in your power to POLICE your own communities and to teach the younger children respect. Without it, the other communities will never respect you. POLICE yourselves from the inside, and you will see the reflection from the outside. If we continue to allow ghetto mentality to persist in the real world, we will always be treated as 3rd world citizens. RISE UP beyond the expectations, dont feed into the BET and HIP HOP GARBAGE thats been destroying our youth from day one.

there is no remorse for the polices action. they take a life in Exarchia Greece, they take a life in Augusta Ga, they take a life in Oakland Ca, they take a life in Lakewood Wa. they have been taking our lives for far to long. they did the same earlier in the year of 2008 in Oakland after the anarchist book fair. what happened? a march where people took back to the normalcy of daily life. because the religious institutions that exist within capital became the vehicle of what should be done and what was done. to begin recuperating the rage against this world.
there (Alex, Oscar, Justin, Jose etc.) lives are an extension of our rage. for far too long it has been a distancing of these experiences from places like Gaza, Greece, Iraq… now it is knocking very abruptly on our doors. lets see an end to their semantics and dialects of passivity that they have a cry for. so we can be ordered to consume more of the same life less commodities. work the same miserable jobs… become more of the same of this entire monolith.
it is seen now that these bastards in uniforms are nothing. they have no power. all they have is a badge and are part of a larger system created by capital and the institutions existent. let this be a poem written by heart beats of the past that seem so familiar. look at LA in 1968 the watts riots, look at LA in 1992 the Rodney King riots, look at France in 2005 a deeper social condition created in the banlieues.
its OK for an police officer to kill a person - a body. part of this larger apparatus. when this happens it is called justice or protection of the people. though when a person kills a cop it is called murder. the media will go on and on about the intention of why this happened. the police officer gets a leave of absence, paid vacation for their inexcusable actions. while the families mourn the deaths of the people they loved. a child is left behind, a family is left behind, a group of friends are left. with discontent and rage. they need to be held accountable.
let this be a push, a rupture of the normalcy, a tension that is used to create a revolution of everyday life.

The fact that BART is withhelding the identity of the murderer officer and the fact that they have made several excuses for his absence ( he just had his first son, and he just had his 27th birthday, and the worst of all that the video was inconclusive) when the murderer has not even spoken for himself, is an indication to me that his actions are being considered exceptable. I’ve even heard some authorizes mention that “he made a mistake…he was trying to taese Grant not shot him”. And I must say, in no uncedrtain terms, THAT IS A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT.

That motherfucker still get to see his daughter and his daughter her dad. Oscar Grant’s daughter will never have that chance again. If that officer is so trigger happy that he could make a mistake like that I want to see him DEAD or else maybe I’m (any of us) next in his line of fire.

This murder stands at the end of a long line of hanis crimes that our black children and especially our young black men need to be protected from.

We can protect our youth by living the best lives we can live and leading by example. I agree that we must bear witness to the criminal acts that we commit, but we can not continue to be targets of the authorities.

I PUBLICLY GO ON RECERD TO CALL FOR THE LIFE SENTENCE OF THE MURDERER (MEZREAL) COP AND THE TIRMINATION OF CHIEF GEE. In addition to the only form of restitution to the Grant family $25,000,000,000.00.

[...] FOBBDeep previously talked about the murder of Oscar Grant—where videos show unnecessary force onto an unarmed Grant laying facedown pinned by multiple officers. Those on the side of the officer suggest the firearm was mistaken for a Taser, instantly killing Grant. There is still no official statement from law enforcement. [...]

A new era has begun. Keep individual and groups of officer accountable for their actions by videorecording incidents and reporting to news agencies. Officers need to know their lives can be turned upsidedown along with the loss of their career if they abuse their policing power.

Online organizing has been hampered. The local news station websites
(KTVU for example)has disabled any blogging about the killing. If you search “Oscar Grant” online you see a confusing list of non-blogging websites. I have created a non-censored blog for anybody to leave opinions. The blog was created for the only purpose to express your opinions about the killing. Hopefully the blog is useful and gets lots of comments. Tell your family and friends about the blog. Let’s organize our thoughts!
